The Coaching Minor is open to students from all majors. Those interested in coaching sports in interscholastic and youth programs are highly encouraged to consider this minor.

Additional Considerations

Coaching practicum minimum prerequisites: PESS 235 - Principles of Coaching and current CPR/First Aid certification. Students requesting to take the PESS 406 - Coaching Practicum must receive blue card approval from the PESS department chair or the Sport Coaching minor director.
Academic Requirements: Evidence of current CPR/First Aid certification required prior to the practicum. This can be met if students currently possess a certified CPR/First Aid card or has completed PESS 214 - First Aid and CPR or PESS 314 - CPR/AED & First Aid Instructor . Advanced certifications will be considered upon documentation from an accredited organization.
