Program Information
The HERS Department provides a 3+2 opportunity for students interested in a Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) degree via the HERS - Exercise & Rehabilitative Sciences - Movement Science (ERMS) - BS Major and the Athletic Training (MSAT) - MS degree (see graduate catalog). This five-year accelerated program is designed to provide students an opportunity to complete both academic degrees in less time than traditional programs. View the HERS - Athletic Training/Movement Science 3+2 Program (PRAT) - BS Major program page for more information.
The 3+2 program option contains all the requirements for completion of a BS degree at WSU and all the professional requirements to complete a graduate degree in Athletic Training that leads to eligibility to sit for the national examination from the Board of Certification (BOC). Students interested in completing this five-year program should declare both ERMS and Pre-Athletic Training (PRAT) upon entering WSU. The PRAT declaration is important so an advisor can be assigned to successfully guide your academic progress.
The Movement Science program requires a 3.0 GPA and a minimum C grade in all required coursework. Applications into the MSAT program will occur during the students 3rd year with graduate courses beginning during the summer between the 3rd and 4th years. For more information regarding the requirements for the MSAT program please see the MSAT website and the WSU graduate catalog.
Dr. Donahue and Dr. Kraemer are available to advise students on career opportunities in Athletic Training. Dr. Zeller is the Director of the Athletic Training Program and Dr. Donahue is the Clinical Education Coordinator of the Athletic Training Program.
