Program Information

The HERS Department provides a 3+2 opportunity for students interested in the Performance Analytics in Sport Science Master of Science degree (PAMS) via the HERS - Exercise & Rehabilitative Sciences - Strength & Conditioning (ERSC) - BS Major    and the Performance Analytics in Sport Science (PAMS) - MS degree (see graduate catalog). This five-year accelerated program is designed to provide students an opportunity to complete both academic degrees in less time than traditional programs. View the HERS - Performance Analytics/Strength and Conditioning 3+2 Program - BS Major program page for more information.

The 3+2 program option contains all the requirements for completion of a BS degree at WSU and all the requirements to complete a graduate degree in Performance Analytics in Sport Science that leads to eligibility to sit for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and the Certified Performance and Sport Scientist certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Students interested in completing this five-year program should declare both ERSC and Pre-Performance Analytics in Sport Science (PRSS) upon entering WSU. The PRSS declaration is important so an advisor can be assigned to successfully guide your academic progress.

The Strength and Conditioning program requires a 2.5 GPA and a minimum C grade in all required coursework. Applications into the PAMS program will occur during the students’ 3rd year with graduate courses beginning during the fall semester of the 4th year. For more information regarding the requirements for the PAMS program please see the PAMS website and the WSU graduate catalog.

Dr. Geijer and Dr. Appicelli are available to advise students on career opportunities in Strength and Conditioning and Sport Science. Dr. Geijer is the Director of the Performance Analytics in Sport Science Program and Dr. Appicelli is the Director of the Strength and Conditioning Program.
