Letter grade required in all minor courses.

Overview

The Applied Mathematics minor is highly attractive to potential employers or graduate schools in other disciplines, and recognizes students majoring in other fields who have demonstrated significant mathematical skills and knowledge.

With a strong emphasis on mathematical modeling and interdisciplinary applications of mathematical concepts and techniques, this minor is designed primarily for students with a major that requires MATH 140 - Applied Calculus  and provides a path to a minor in mathematics that does not require the standard calculus sequence (I.e., MATH 212  & MATH 213 ) or other courses with Math 212/213 prerequisites.

The following is a list of just a few majors that would be well-complemented by this minor:

  • Accounting
  • Biology
  • Business
  • Data Science
  • Economics
  • Geoscience
