HERS 390 - Movement Science Research Design


(4 S.H.)

A detailed overview of the research process including discussion of research in movement science, literature review development, statement of the research problem, formulating the methods, writing the results, and discussion. Completion of human subjects review committee application forms as needed, and completion of subject informed consent. Additionally, application of frequently used statistical tests including correlation, regression analysis, t-tests, analysis of variance, analysis of covariance, and post-hoc comparisons will be covered. Prerequisites: HERS 314 - Anatomical Kinesiology , △ HERS 340 - Physiology of Exercise ,   and junior academic standing. Preferred prerequisites:  HERS 370 - Mechanical Kinesiology  and ◎ HERS 380 - Laboratory Methods in Exercise Science . Grade only. Offered spring semester.
