MCOM 371 - Advanced Interactive Environments

This course is an introduction to Physical Computing using the Arduino prototyping platform as a learning tool. The course will cover the basic hardware and software notions to programming electronic devices. In addition to that the course will provide a working knowledge of Raspberry Pi as a hardware tool for the Linux operative system. The student will be able to capture data from a variety of sensors and based on that, create responsive applications or electronic devices. Prerequisites: MCOM 215 - Photo: The Technical Art , MCOM 221 - Principles of Transmedia Storytelling , MCOM 271 - Introduction to Interactive Environments , MCOM 274 - Video and Audio Production for Digital Storytelling , and MCOM 307 - Media Lab . Grade only. Offered every other semester.
