SPED 411 - Practicum


(3 S.H.)

Introduction to practical application with guided practice in effective teaching and classroom management procedures for students with disabilities. Involves placement in a special education classroom or inclusive setting daily for three hours per day totaling 165-180 hours. Prerequisites: admission to Teacher Education, SPED 300 - Children and Youth with Exceptionalities , SPED 405 - Student Management Systems , SPED 410 - Introduction to Assessment/Methods  and ◎ SPED 420 - Special Education Administrative Procedures . Corequisites: SPED 440 - Assessment/Methods for Students with Developmental Disabilities  and/or SPED 445 - Assessment/Methods for Students with Learning Disabilities . Application through the Office of Clinical Practice required a year in advance. P/NC only. Offered each semester.
