HLA 311 - Data Science Applications in Healthcare (3 credits)
The focus of this course will be on the methods and technologies used in the applications of data science to healthcare. The student will be exposed to the methods/processes for the curation and management of data, the summarization and visualization of data, machine learning algorithms, and the creation of data products for the communication of outcomes. The data science technologies used in this course will be accessible to students with a limited background in computing. Students will complete a data science project. Students cannot receive credit for both HLA 311 and DSCI 311. Prerequisite: ◆ HLA 301 - Statistical Thinking for Healthcare . Grade only. Offered annually.
