HLA 402 - Lifestyle Medicine


(3 credits)

There is a complex relationship between lifestyle and health outcomes. This course will examine the science-based relationship between lifestyle choices or patterns and chronic disease. Students will use evidence-based science to determine how holistic and lifestyle remedies can be used to treat and prevent disease. Topics to be covered include lifestyle medicine practices: activity, nutrition, sleep, weight management, and other good practices, which all profoundly impact both health and quality of life. Prerequisites: Admission to Healthcare Leadership & Administration: Health & Wellness Management (HWM) - BAS Major , HLA 302 - Introduction to Analytical Trends & Possibilities in Healthcare , and HLA 310 - Fundamentals of Health and Wellness . Grade only. Offered alternate years (usually spring semester).
