NURS 625 - Adult-Gerontology CNS Role Development Clinical


(1-4 credits)

This course provides an opportunity for the student to demonstrate adult-gerontology CNS competencies related to acute and chronic health conditions common in the adult-gerontology population. Students will apply current clinical evidence, theory, and research relevant to CNS practice to improve patient/family, nursing practice, and organizational outcomes and will demonstrate assessment and intervention strategies, including pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic interventions, to address acute and chronic health conditions and human responses to illness. Prerequisite:  NURS 612 - Advanced Health Promotion for Families , NURS 613 - Advanced Health Promotion for Families Clinical , NURS 620 - Adult/Gerontology CNS Role Foundations Seminar , or instructor permission. Corequisite:  NURS 624 - Adult-Gerontology CNS Role Development Seminar  or instructor permission. Grade only. Offered annually (usually fall semester).
