◎ NURS 419 - Advanced Health Promotion (3 credits)
In this course, students will analyze the theory and evidence supporting advanced nursing roles in disease prevention and promotion of health and well-being. They will utilize evidence-based strategies and techniques that respect the diversity of individuals, families, communities, and populations and will explore determinants of health. The course emphasizes evidence-based, person-centered approaches, interprofessional collaborative practice, and diversity, equity, and inclusion to support positive health outcomes for individuals, families, communities, and populations. A community-based corequisite practicum allows students to apply this holistic, health promotion perspective in the advanced nursing role outside of traditional biomedical settings. Corequisite: NURS 499 - Advanced Health Promotion Clinical . Grade only. Offered spring semester.
