NURS 499 - Advanced Health Promotion Clinical


(1 credit)

In this clinical course, students apply concepts of disease prevention and promotion of health and well-being from the co-requisite course to the practice setting. Students design, implement and evaluate interventions for the promotion of optimal health based on principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Community based clinical experiences prepare students to practice the advanced nursing role outside traditional biomedical settings and to work with diverse individuals, families, communities, and populations. Students actively engage in interprofessional collaboration that promotes the health of individuals, families, communities, and populations. Corequisite: ◎ NURS 419 - Advanced Health Promotion . Grade only. Offered each semester as needed. Note: This course requires 60 clinical hours (at various sites and times) within a community setting.
