CAS 660 - Poverty


(3 credits)

Students will critically analyze poverty and child poverty in the United States and globally. Students will explore poverty in a historical and social context. Students will understand the demographics of poverty and the impact of poverty on children. Students will also evaluate societal responses to poverty and develop an action plan to help mitigate the impacts of poverty for children in the classroom and/or community. Prerequisite: CAS 600 - Introduction to Child and Adolescent Studies . Grade only. Offered annually (usually summer session).
