NURS 664 - Strategic Resource Leadership Practicum in Health Systems

In this practicum course, learners will be immersed in a structured practicum experience for exploration of nursing leadership and management roles in a health system. Emphasis will be placed on the use of data and evidence to drive decision making - such as financial, quality (national, state, organizational, and population), information systems, and additional drivers of data to support and lead organizational initiatives that improve population health and support a healthy workplace environment and culture. Prerequisites: NURS 608 - Organizational and Systems Leadership, NURS 614 - Evidence-Based Practice, NURS 651 - Strategic Project Management or instructor permission. Corequisites: NURS 652 - Financial Resource Management in Nursing Service and NURS 653 - Human Resource Management. Grade only. Offered annually (usually fall semester).
