CE 648 - Special Topics in Play Therapy


(3 credits)

In this course, students will learn about applications of play therapy to special populations; specifically, for the assessment and treatment of clients with mental health issues associated with trauma and complex trauma, medical illness and co-morbid diagnoses, developmental disorders (e.g., Autism Spectrum), psychosis, and other types of acute psychopathology. Prerequisite: CE 646 - Introduction to Play Therapy . Suggested Corequisite: CE 647 - Theoretical Applications in Play Therapy . Grade only. Offered annually or when demand warrants. Note: Limited to 15 students per section.
