NURS 751 - Nurse Educator DNP Direct Care Clinical


(2 credits)

This two-credit clinical course is designed to enhance advanced disciplinary knowledge, skills, and practice expectations for individuals, families, groups, and/or communities in a specified clinical setting. Clinical experiences foster application of core content, such as pathophysiology, advanced health assessment, nursing pharmacology, and nursing education content in a clinical setting. DNP graduate students will identify specific learning goals and strategies to meet the course objectives and work with an assigned preceptor in the clinical setting. Seminar meetings will enhance reflection about the advanced nursing knowledge and skills applied in the clinical setting. Prerequisities: NURS 617 - Advanced Clinical Pharmacology , NURS 618 - Advanced Pathophysiology , NURS 619 - Advanced Health Assessment , NURS 669 - Nursing Education: Theory and Research , NURS 670 - Nursing Education Curriculum & Program Design , NURS 671 - Nursing Education: Instruction and Evaluation   & NURS 672 - Nursing Education: Instruction and Evaluation Practicum/Clinical . Admission to the DNP - Nurse Educator program (BNED or DNED) OR consent of instructor. Grade only. Offered annually (usually fall semester). Note: Students must work with the DGN clinical faculty member and the Clinical Placement Coordinator prior to starting the course and complete needed onboarding for the selected clinical site. May be repeated no more than 3 times- up to 6 credits.
