NURS 310 - Medical/Surgical Nursing I


(4 credits)

Students will be provided an introduction to the profession of nursing in the context of foundational concepts important to medical-surgical nursing. Students will develop knowledge, begin clinical judgment skills, begin communication skills, and the application of therapeutic interventions for diverse adult patients and their families in acute care settings. Preferred corequisites: NURS 300 - Professional Nursing and Nursing Success I , NURS 305 - Nursing Competency Skills and Application I , and NURS 320 - Pathophysiology and Pharmacology . Prerequisite: Admission to the Nursing program. Grade only. Offered each semester on Winona and Rochester campuses. Note: Differential tuition rates apply. This course is allowed to be repeated 1 time.
