NURS 300 - Professional Nursing and Nursing Success I (3 credits)
Students will be provided an introduction to the profession of nursing in the context of foundational concepts important to holistic nursing. Students will begin to develop the following: clinical judgement, communication, compassionate care, ethics evidenced-based practice, and social determinants of health. Students will practice NCLEX strategies and take NCLEX preparation exams. Students will also explore self-care practices to promote resilience. Preferred corequisites: NURS 305 - Nursing Competency Skills and Application I , NURS 310 - Medical/Surgical Nursing I , and NURS 320 - Pathophysiology and Pharmacology . Prerequisite: Admission to the Nursing program. Grade only. Offered each semester on Winona and Rochester campuses. Note: Differential tuition rates apply. This course is allowed to be repeated 1 time.
