PESS 403 - Leadership and Advocacy in Physical Education

This course explores state and national policy, procedures, and resources impacting physical education decision-making and programming. It addresses leadership and stakeholder engagement to support and enhance physical education opportunities for PK-12 grade students. Students will examine their mission, vision, and values related to teaching and learning as a physical education professional and commit to ongoing professional engagement, reflection, and collaboration. Physical Education Teaching majors only. Prerequisites: PESS 325 - Planning, Instructing, and Assessing for Learning and Meaningfulness in Elementary Physical Education Part I, PESS 326 - Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment Methods in Middle School and Junior High Physical Education, △ PESS 352 - Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Methods in High School Physical Education, PET status. Grade only. Offered annually (usually fall semester).
