ART 211 - Principles of Design (3 credits)
Study and practice of fundamental principles of visual design for print and screen. Building on introductory design thinking, this course develops skills in visual organization, hierarchy, contrast, rhythm, alignment, grid structures, typography basics, and color theory. Students apply these principles through project-based work that emphasizes composition, readability, and visual communication in contemporary media environments. The course is delivered primarily online asynchronous. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing (15 credits). Prerequisite course recommended: ART 111 - Introduction to Design Thinking . Grade only. Offered when demand warrants.
