NURS 673 - Advanced Diagnostics and Therapeutics for Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NPs

This clinical and laboratory course introduces students to the use of diagnostic and treatment modalities utilized in acute/critical care settings. Content includes principles such as fluid replacement, hemodynamic monitoring and electromechanical interventions. Analysis of laboratory data and interpretation of radiographs and ECGs will be included. Laboratory practice will include procedures such as suturing, intubation, and line insertion, as well as use of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic devices. Prerequisites: NURS 612 - Advanced Health Promotion for Families; NURS 613 - Advanced Health Promotion for Families Clinical; NURS 616 - Molecular, Genetic and Immune Mechanisms in Disease; NURS 618 - Advanced Pathophysiology; NURS 619 - Advanced Health Assessment.
