Overview
This program is designed for transfer students who either: (1) have a previously earned diploma or degree in an Allied Healthcare related field; or (2) have a minimum of 45-credits and are professionals working in healthcare.
The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Healthcare Leadership and Administration (HLL) is a cooperative multidisciplinary online completion degree with five domains of learning: Communication and Relationship Management, Leadership, Professionalism, Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment, and Business Skills and Knowledge. The purpose of this degree is to meet the growing demand for competent and innovative leaders in the field of allied health and to deliver the program in a way that effectively serves adult learners and working professionals. This bachelor completion degree program contains all the requirements for completion of a BAS degree at WSU which includes transfer credits, general education requirements, and major requirements.
Additionally, this program provides an opportunity to complete the Health/Healthcare Leadership (HHL) - MS degree in an accelerated 3+2 pathway, completing two degrees in less time than traditional programs. Students will complete three courses (9 credits) of graduate coursework while in the undergraduate program that will apply towards both degrees. Students interested in completing the 3+2 program should declare both HLL and Pre-Health/Healthcare Leadership (PHHL) upon entering WSU. The PHHL declaration is important so an advisor can be assigned to successfully guide academic progress. For more program information, visit the HHL program page or HLA website. For graduate information, visit the WSU graduate catalog.
Students who do not meet the entrance requirements should contact the program at hla@winona.edu to learn more about pre-program options.
