Overview
The Developmental Disabilities program prepares teacher candidates with the knowledge and skills required by the Minnesota Board of Teaching to instruct K-12 students with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. Courses build upon content learned in the special education core classes. Teacher candidates take two methods classes and an elementary or secondary field experience.
To be licensed in this area, the student must be admitted to Teacher Education Unit (TEU) and take the professional education sequence, reading methods, and special education core classes or have a current Minnesota Special Education License.

SPED Prerequisites
