HERS 628 - Examination and Integration of Behavioral Supports


(3 credits)

Students will focus on implementation and application of interventions and supports for mental health while incorporating Motivational Interviewing techniques and behavior change theories. Students in this communication-centered course will use a holistic lens to view health behaviors and will combine behavior change theories, self-help techniques, and mental health supports to drive behavior change during live, wellness-focused conversations. Prerequisites: HERS 540 - Personal and Community Influences on Health and Wellness  and HERS 550 - Mental Health From Theory to Practice: Adult  or instructor permission. Grade only. Offered annually.
