CTE 409 - Learning in Today’s Workforce


(3 credits)

Learning in Today’s Workforce is a course that looks at the importance of Career and Technical Education and its relationship to the workforce and the American society. An in-depth look into the contemporary issues affecting Career and Technical Education and workforce training guides students in the development of a rationale for CTE and work-based learning, and explore their leadership potential by examining their own professional identity and growth. The exploration of issues and possible solutions provide guidance for the planning and coordinating of the cooperative learning relationships between business and industry and education and training. Prerequisites: CTE 401 - Foundations of Career and Technical Education , CTE 403 - Career and Technical Education Program Organization , CTE 405 - Teaching Methods in Career and Technical Education , CTE 407 - Curriculum Design in Career and Technical Education ; Pre/corequisite: CTE 413 - Teaching Career and Technical Education Portfolio  or instructor permission. Grade or P/NC. Offered each semester.
