CTE 413 - Teaching Career and Technical Education Portfolio (3 credits)
The CTE portfolio provides a direct measure of student learning towards teacher licensure in a CTE area. The portfolio process itself develops certain skills and raises student awareness about the merits of inter-disciplinary education, enhances their cultural competency, and provides an opportunity for self-assessment of their accomplishments. The samples of student work demonstrate student cultural competency, integration of skills both academically and work-based, and as collected over time, can be used to measure learning in the CTE program during specific periods. The portfolio is a systematic collection of student work and artifacts that depict the student’s activities, accomplishments, and achievements that provide evidence towards preparation for CTE teacher licensure. Prerequisites: CTE 401 - Foundations of Career and Technical Education , CTE 403 - Career and Technical Education Program Organization , CTE 405 - Teaching Methods in Career and Technical Education , CTE 407 - Curriculum Design in Career and Technical Education ; Pre/corequisite: CTE 409 - Learning in Today’s Workforce or instructor permission.
