NURS 370 - Nursing Care for Mental Health


(4 credits)

Students will explore mental health nursing, emphasizing therapeutic communication, cultural competence, ethical considerations, and interprofessional collaboration. Students will explore evidence-based practices and apply critical thinking for the care of patients experiencing impaired psychosocial integrity across various healthcare settings. Preferred corequisites: ◆ NURS 340 - Professional Nursing and Nursing Success II , NURS 345 - Nursing Competency Skills and Application II , NURS 350 - Medical/Surgical Nursing II , and NURS 365 - Nursing Care of Maternal and Infant Patients . Prerequisites: Admission to the Nursing program and NURS 310 - Medical/Surgical Nursing I . Grade only. Offered each semester on Winona and Rochester campuses. Note: Differential tuition rates apply. This course is allowed to be repeated 1 time.
